It is a new silk fabric that is not made from cow dung, but from a new type of plant, known as silkworm silk.
That means the fabric is made from plants that are not only resistant to diseases but also highly adaptable to new conditions.
And that makes it very flexible.
The silkworms used to make this silk are already used to manufacture fabric, and so they will not go out of business, said Andrew McQuaid, an associate professor of engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.
“We’re really lucky that we can have a silkworm population that is still thriving in this area of the world.”
It has not yet been confirmed if this silk fabric will be available in the United States, but the research was funded by the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health.
There are some challenges with silkworms, such as the fact that they don’t have a digestive system that can digest the protein they need for growth, so they can’t make a protein that will allow them to grow as they need.
So they have to eat lots of plant matter.
But that is part of what makes this fabric so interesting, McQuays said.
The first silkworm that was made was from an endangered species of spider, which was a good source of protein, he said.
And silkworms are still a very good source for silk.
In fact, they were once used in the manufacture of the finest silk.
“There’s really no way they can be a problem in the world right now,” McQuay said.
But they will probably need to be controlled.
“The only way to really control them is to make them sterile,” he said, adding that there will likely be an international effort to get the silkworms out of the country.
But there is one silver lining: the scientists believe the silkworm can be made to produce an almost perfect fabric, McWilliams said.
That will make it a lot easier for people to use it.
He said that in the future, it may be possible to make silk from plant matter that is resistant to pests, such a cotton or silkworm.
“It’s going to be a big win for people, for the environment and for our species,” McWilliams added.
“I think there’s still a lot we haven’t discovered yet.”
